| TV Service Technician
Position Information The TV Service Technician repairs television sets by completing diagnostic tests, and repairs or replacements; maintaining repair records. Responsibilities • Identify problems by listening to customer's explanation. • Perform operational checks. • Set-up diagnostic equipment. • Conduct diagnostic tests involving deflection and scanning, analog and digital signals, colorimetry, audio, radio frequency transmissions, cathode ray tubes (CRT), circuits, etc. • Study block diagrams, schematics, component diagrams, logic diagram flow charts, etc. • Analyze findings. • Plan repairs by gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools; ordering special parts and components. • Complete repairs by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, modifying, repairing, replacing and rewiring parts, components, and circuitry. • Verify system performance by completing operational tests. • Document repairs by recording changes. • Maintain customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions. • Maintain safe work environment by following codes and standards. • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. • Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalency. • AA degree from an accredited vocational, technical or junior college institution with a focus in electrical engineering is preferred. • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electronics repair and related test equipment and troubleshooting • Must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, dependable, problem solving, and decision making skills. • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos. • Ability to write detailed correspondence. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, customers, and other employees. • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions given in writing, communication and diagram form. • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques with little or no supervision. • Must be computer literate with Microsoft word and excel. Ability to learn manufacturing operating system software as it applies to quality assurance department requirements, email, and proficiently using a keyboard. • Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings, and events |
