I have reviewed several of my systems on this site, and just recently purchased a pair of these BP6's for my bedroom, which also has a pro monitor set-up, I am addicted! Seriously, Definitive is my drug, I would be heartbroken without them. I just finished watching Master and Commander, BP6's as my mains, super cube 3 sub, pro monitor 1000 surrounds, pro cinema 2000 center. What a great film to showcase these terrific speakers. At the end of the film, the credits roll to about 10 minutes of some beautiful and varied scores, all conveyed so accurately, powerfully, and with such warmth, that only my wife coming in to tell me it was time to go, could have taken me away. She'll never understand my pain!

After going through several pairs of speakers at the local store, the BP6s outperformed anything in their class and even most above it. These speakers sound phenomenal, even in the most awkward acoustic environments, and would be a steal at twice their MSRP. Hats off to Definitive Technology for proving that fantastic sound can be affordable.

I have loved my BP6s for the several years I have had them but was blown away when I compared the sound from some of my favorite CDs when using the BP7002 SuperTowers at the store. I bought a pair of the BP7002's and am absolutely delighted at the wonderful improvement to both CDs and to my home theater. My wife (who usually frowns at my A/V purchases) absolutely loves them as well. Even some of my audiophile friends (who only buy speakers starting at $5,000 a pair) have conceded that these DF speakers rock. Great deal!
13 years later they are still chugging along with the same clarity as day 1

In 1997 I purchased a used Carver TFM 15CB along with a set of speakers that did not do it justice. I friend convinced me to listen to the DT bi-polar series. After listening to every speaker in the series, I was shocked that the BP6, with their very modestly sized drivers had the most clarity while pushing high volumes with little problem. 13 years later they are still chugging along with the same clarity as day 1. They have survived multiple moves and supplied high volume output from classical to death metal to video game explosions. Now that the Carver will be retired, I plan on incorporating them into a 7.1 system as LR fronts (obviously with a new Definitive kit). The only thing I might throw in as a possible negative is the listed frequency response down to 25hz is a bit optimistic. If you plan on listening to hip-hop or anything with a lot of sustained lows, you should consider a sub-woofer with crossover. Otherwise BP6's are the easy choice for the audiophile on a budget.
The price was more than just alright, it was great.

Last year for Christmas I received a 6.1 receiver with an Energy Take 5.2 speaker package. Watching movies it faired OK, but as far as listening to music it was sub-par. I needed to do something about the front speakers to get clarity in music. I started with your typical Best Buy, Circuit City, etc., to find speakers. All of the speakers in my price range sounded better than mine, but by far not mind blowing in their clarity.
I went to a local high-end home theater store not thinking anything would fit my price range, but to my surprise I found the Definitive Technology BP6B Bipolar Towers. I couldn't believe how clear they were, and the price was more than just alright, it was great. They blew away the Infinity, Polk, etc., that I had been looking at.
Once I set them up at home they really shined. I have since added a C/L/R 2002 center channel and I am looking to upgrade my subwoofer and rear surround speakers. I will no doubt buy Definitive Technology. I am a customer for life.

I was dubious about the bi-polar thing, but now I'm a believer.

Feb. 2010. Way back in 1997, I bought a ProCinema 100 system, with the ProMonitor 100s, ProCenter 100, and ProSub 100 ("Thundering Betty"), and had some cheepies for the surrounds. Always LOVED it. As a 40th birthday present to myself, decided to upgrade the fronts and move the 100s to the surrounds. Thought briefly about the BP7006, but living in a townhouse with nice neighbors, I can't go too overboard. Went with the BP6B. I can't believe how much fuller and richer the sound is, and it was already excellent. They really are stunning. I was dubious about the bi-polar thing, but now I'm a believer. Also purchased a promonitor 2000, so I have perfectly matched tweeters and mids across the front. The ProSub now just quitely hums along at the 40 and below frequencies and really provides a rich and subtle foundation for the rest of the system. From a durability and longevity point of view, I've had my DefTechs for 13 years now. Never a problem, and I just love them. The upgrade was money very well spent. DefTech is known for delivering well priced speakers at each price point. These speakers (really the entry point in the bi-polar setup) were not only a great price, but are just amazing speakers, and if history is a guide will last a long, long time. I would absolutely make the same decision again. Congrats, DefTech... I am a huge fan and a very satisfied customer.
Awesome sound, well-built, very attractive cabinets, and an excellent price. What more could you want?

I finally got my new CLR 2002 and BP2Xs, and I absolutely love them. I heard things last night while watching OPEN RANGE that I wasn't able to hear with the old Bose system, especially in the surrounds.
These three speakers sounded awesome in the store, but when I got them home and added them to my BP6s and two ProSub 80s, my wife had to pick my jaw up off of the floor. I couldn't believe it! All the loudspeakers in my system have the same size drivers and the Denon AVR-1804 just makes 'em purr.
I never thought I would have a home theater that sounds this good, not at the price. Friends and family have heard it over the last couple of weeks and think I've spent a fortune. Awesome sound, well-built, very attractive cabinets, and an excellent price. What more could you want?
I'm very proud to have a complete Definitive Technology speaker system. I wouldn't have any other brand. Thank you and keep up the good work. I'll upgrade again in a couple of years when I move. Hmmmmm... BP7001SC....
